    Bradford Death Cafe

    This Death Cafe is a safe space to talk about death and all things related. It can be difficult to find the time in daily life to talk about the topic, so the Death Cafe movement was set up to enable people to talk. These sessions aren't designed as therapy, but we find that talking about death can help us appreciate life.

    Sessions are completely free to attend.

    Teenage 13-17yrs Bread Making with Ben the Baker & Theatre in the Mill

    Ben is an artisan baker who loves to get people baking. Working with Theatre in the Mill, he is providing these baking session for free.

    Small group of 6 children will create dough, kneed, prove and bake your bread, there has to be a little bit of tasting to finish it off. These are community baking sessions for all. Ben hopes to run more sessions if you want to advance your knowledge and skills.

    British Red Cross - First Aid

    Oliva from British Red cross is an ex teacher, who is approachable and good humoured. She runs this practical workshop where students will learn essential first aid skills. She will help them to build the confidence and willingness to help someone in an emergency, using everyday objects that they have around them. Olivia will also show them where to get support if they have an injury or illness, as well as introducing them to the work that we do in the UK.

    Children/young people will learn to:

    •    be more confident to help someone in a first aid emergency

    •    be more willing to help someone in a first aid emergency

    •    be more able to help someone in a first aid emergency

    £5 fee discounted off food and drink bought in the cafe on the day.

    British Red Cross - Coping with Challenges

    Oliva from British Red cross delivers this training, she is an ex teacher, who is approachable and good humoured. Young people face a variety of complex challenges in their lives. This workshop aims to provide them with a resilience- building framework to help them cope better with the challenges they face. The workshop uses experiential learning to encourage learners to take part in group tasks and activities. This is followed by guided periods of discussion and reflection to help consolidate learning.

    Children/young people will learn to:

    •    explain how people can cope with challenges using the four pillars of resilience

    •    understand the relationship between connections with others and resilience

    •    feel confident to apply what they have learnt to better cope with challenge

    £5 fee discounted off food and drink bought in the cafe on the day.

    Kumihimo Braiding with Darn It Workshops




    Kumihimo braiding is a really absorbing and addictive form of braiding with a wide range of coloured cords. Easy to grasp and lots of fun, it's like French Knitting for adults. By the end of the session you should have at least one professional looking finished bracelet.
